what's wrong with plagiarism? By Gunner Swanson

Plagiarism is basically stealing, it is ethically and morally wrong. But does plagiarism include stealing an idea? how do you steal an idea? can't we all have similar ideas?
As designers we view plagiarism in a different way, we need to research and look at other people's ideas and concepts in order to come up with our own. This is where the line between plagiarism and inspiration becomes blurry. However in my opinion , if you put two people's work next to each other it will be very obvious whether it was plagiarized or inspired.
Moreover, hundreds maybe even thousands of people come up with the same ideas in the world but each one proceeds with it in their own way and comes out with a unique perspective of it.
So there is nothing wrong with having the same ideas , as long as you have your own personal process to go with the end result.
